Our newest addition!!

We got a little surprise last Friday. She came a little over two weeks early, and is doing very well. Marissa was born on 12/18/09, 5lbs 12oz, 18in.

Lexi is adjusting well so far, she loves her new little sister and likes to help me take care of her. She will help give her a tubby, put her dirty clothes in the laundry basket, and throw away dirty diapers for me.

I know this isn't a lot of pics, I will get more up eventually!

Christmas Tree and "CANDY"

Lexi was so excited to go get "her" Christmas tree. We told her Friday night that we would go in the morning and get a tree. So when I got her up the next morning the first thing she said was "we go get Christmas tree!!" She was very upset when I told her we had to get dressed and eat breakfast first. Her favorite thing to watch lately has been "How the Grinch stole Christmas" (cartoon). So when we got the tree up, she wanted us to hold hands around the tree and sing like the Who's do in the movie. So when we started to sing she said "no singing dad, no singing mom". Basically she wanted to do the singing, it's hilarious to hear her attempt to sing her version of that song they sing...."dabu ahdu dabu ahdu Christmas Christmas" and repeat.
She also likes to copy when the Grinch goes into the little sleeping Who's room and takes the candy canes. So this is Lexi sleeping with "candy" waiting for me to take it from her.

She wanted to take the candy from Minnie.

Snow White

Sorry these are out of order, I don't really know how to get them straight.

Some of our neighbors go all out for Halloween. This one had a grave yard on the way up to the door complete with corpses that pop out of caskets, and they had a show in the garage. Lexi didn't want to get close to the singing skeletons, but she would have watched it all night if we would have let her.

Lexi and her Cousin Jasmine. Jasmine is a dragon. My sister and mom came over on Halloween afternoon, we had lunch and watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown show.

Lexi was so excited to go trick or treating, even though she had no idea what it was. She got the hang of it real quick. She would be a few steps ahead of Rhett and me and would shout back at us "come on guys". I guess we weren't moving quick enough for her to get to the next house for candy.

Lexi had been begging to wear her Snow White dress for weeks, but I didn't want it to get ruined before Halloween. Rest assure she has worn it every day since Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch

I took Lexi to the pumpkin patch. It's a fun little place, they have blow up bouncers and slides that I couldn't get Lexi off of. I know she doesn't look very happy here, but she was very proud of herself for making it to the top of the slide.

They had a little zoo too. Lexi loves animals so she had fun making all the animal noises at them.

They also have a corn maze, we didn't go through it though. But here's Lexi on the outskirts of the maze, wanting to touch every pumpkin in sight. I didn't get a picture of it, but she got to pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Fall Fun

Rhett threw Lexi into a huge pile of leaves he had just raked up.
She kept saying "one more time". But of course she wanted to be thrown in over and over again.

It was a very big pile. This picture was taken after Rhett had all ready bagged up some leaves.

She likes to go say "hi" to the square-scwoe (Scare-crow), and give it a hug and kiss.

Gardner Village

My Mom, sister, and I (and kids of course) went up to Gardner village to take a look at all the witches and Halloween fun that they have there. (Lexi and I actually went up twice, we also went there with my Mother-in-law and sister's-in-law) We had lots of fun trying on witch hats.
Lexi with her Aunt Amy and cousin Jasmine.

She was so excited to see the witches. All morning she was laughing like a witch and telling Rhett and me to laugh like one too.

She really liked this one because the witch was going in the potty. (Lexi is now potty trained, so she likes to "potty talk").

We had a great lunch there. As you can see, Lexi and Jasmine love to hang out together.

We're having another girl!

If you're just finding out for the first time that we are expecting baby #2, please don't be offended. Rhett and I have only told family up until this point. But we are very excited to welcome our newest little one in either late Dec. or early Jan. Here is the front of her face.
Her profile.

Hogle Zoo

We took Lexi to the zoo last weekend. She wasn't as excited to see all the animals as I though she would be, but still I think she had fun. She's probably another year away from really enjoying the zoo. On the little train, very short ride but she liked the train a lot.
Just wandering around picking up table scraps, these animals aren't shy.

That's some sort of monkey hanging from the tree.

Tubby Time

A typical evening: I get Lexi's bath started and she likes to put the toys in herself. This night is a little different. As she's putting her toys in I turn away for about 2 seconds to set her towel on the counter, I turn back and this is what I see.
Her face was so cute I couldn't get mad. She just looked at me as nothing was wrong, and couldn't understand why my first reaction was yelling (not in a mean way) "OH LEXI"!!!

Orem Parade

Orem Parade timeLexi loved the parade last year and this year, so I think this will be an annual event.

Lexi and her cousin Brynn dancing to the marching band.
She was very excited to see the "horsies"

Loving all the candy the parade people were throwing out!

The Parade got over just in time. Right as we were packing up, the dark clouds rolled in and the rain began.

Night-night Daddy

This is Lexi and Rhett stalling bed time.Instead of me putting Lexi to bed, Lexi put Daddy to bed. Complete with pillow, blanket, binky, Elmo, and all her princess'
Side note: Lexi has moved into her "Big Girl Bed"!

Little weekend getaway

We took a little weekend trip to the Sand Dunes! We were there for 4 days, the pictures start on day 2. Sorry there's a lot of them so keep scrolling down.
The first 2 days were cold, so we had to bundle up.

Lexi's cousin Hayden was nice enough to let us ride his 4 wheeler around the camp for a while.

I couldn't get Lexi off this toddler 4 wheeler, she thinks she needs one of her own. We'll see about that.

Lexi and Lauren were loving the bubbles!

It warmed up the 3rd. Day! Still jacket weather though

Look'en so good in Daddy's sunglasses.

We went with Rhett and Hayden (sorry no picture of Hayden) to catch lizards (Rhett caught 7), and Lexi didn't want to walk back to our camp. Lucky girl got a shoulder ride.

Hayley and Lexi making a big muddy sandy mess. This is probably the only time I'll let Lexi get that dirty.

Nothing like a hot tubby after a long day of playing in the sand.

All packed up and ready to go home. What a fun trip!
